Ants

Ants are one of the most common household pests throughout North Dakota and Minnesota, especially during the spring and summer months. As temperatures rise and the ground begins to thaw, ant colonies become more active and begin searching for food, water, and shelter.

Although ants naturally live outdoors, they frequently make their way inside homes and businesses through small cracks in foundations, gaps around windows and doors, utility openings, and other entry points.

Common Ants in our Region

  • Pavement Ant

  • Carpenter Ant

  • Field Ant

  • Thief Ant

  • Pharoh Ant

Spiders

Spider activity typically increases during the warmer months, especially throughout spring, summer, and early fall. As insect populations increase, spiders are drawn to areas where food is readily available. During the fall, certain spider species may also become more noticeable as they mature and search for mates.

Common Spiders in the Region

  • Wolf Spider

  • Cellar Spiders

  • Orb-Weaver Spider

  • Grass Spider

  • House Spider

Asian Beetle

Asian lady beetles, commonly referred to as Asian beetles, are one of the most noticeable seasonal pests throughout Minnesota and North Dakota. While these insects are beneficial outdoors because they feed on aphids and other plant pests, they can become a major nuisance when they gather around homes and businesses in large numbers.

Asian lady beetles are especially active during the fall months, typically September through November, when temperatures begin to drop. As colder weather approaches, they search for warm, protected locations to spend the winter.

Homes and commercial buildings provide ideal shelter, especially those with sun-exposed siding, windows, soffits, and small openings around the exterior.

Products we use to treat these issues….

Talstar P

Talstar P is a professional-grade insecticide containing bifenthrin, a synthetic pyrethroid designed to control a wide variety of crawling and other listed insect pests. Talstar P works by affecting the nervous system of insects through contact or ingestion. It provides both initial pest control and residual activity on treated surfaces, helping reduce pest populations over time.

Demand CS

Manufactured by Syngenta, Demand CS is a professional-grade insecticide containing lambda-cyhalothrin, a synthetic pyrethroid that provides effective control of a wide variety of common household and commercial pests.

What makes Demand CS unique is its iCAP microencapsulation technology, which surrounds the active ingredient in microscopic capsules. These capsules help protect the insecticide from environmental degradation and provide controlled release of the active ingredient, allowing for extended residual activity on treated surfaces.

Alpine WSG

Alpine WSG is a professional-grade insecticide containing dinotefuran, an active ingredient belonging to the neonicotinoid class of insecticides.

Unlike many traditional insecticides, Alpine WSG is a non-repellent insecticide, meaning targeted insects generally do not detect and avoid treated surfaces. This allows pests to travel through treated areas and come into contact with the product.

* For many of our liquid insecticide treatments, children and pets can safely return to treated areas once the application has completely dried, provided all product-specific label requirements have been met.

Our technicians will inform you of any necessary precautions, including recommended re-entry times and areas to avoid following treatment. Some specialized treatments may require additional precautions. *
