Our technicians use a combination of professional wet-spray applications, crack-and-crevice treatments, and specialized cockroach baits to target areas where cockroaches commonly hide and reproduce. Treatment primarily focuses on kitchens and bathrooms, including areas around appliances, cabinets, plumbing, and other potential hiding spots.
Depending on the severity of the infestation, additional treatments may be necessary to achieve effective, long-term control.
About German Cockroaches
What are German Cockroaches?
These small, light-brown to tan insects are typically about ½ to ⅝ inch long and can be identified by two dark, parallel stripes located directly behind their heads.
Unlike many other cockroach species, German cockroaches primarily live indoors, preferring warm, humid environments with easy access to food and water. They are commonly found in residential homes, apartments, restaurants, hotels, and commercial kitchens throughout Minnesota and North Dakota.
Why are they in my Home?
German cockroaches are typically introduced into buildings through infested belongings, cardboard boxes, grocery packaging, used appliances, furniture, and other transported items.
Once inside, they quickly establish themselves in areas that provide warmth, moisture, and food.
Common Areas Where German Cockroaches Hide:
Kitchens, especially behind refrigerators, stoves, and dishwashers.
Inside and underneath cabinets and drawers.
Around sinks, plumbing, and drains.
Bathrooms and laundry rooms.
Cracks and crevices around walls and baseboards.
Inside or around electrical appliances and other warm hiding locations.
German cockroaches are primarily nocturnal, meaning they are most active at night. Seeing cockroaches during the daytime can sometimes indicate a significant infestation or overcrowded hiding areas.

Advion Cockroach Gel Bait
Advion Cockroach Gel Bait, a professional-grade insecticide manufactured by Syngenta, to effectively control German cockroach infestations. Its active ingredient, indoxacarb (0.6%), works by disrupting the cockroach's nervous system, ultimately causing paralysis and death. The gel bait attracts cockroaches, allowing them to consume the product and return to their hiding areas before dying. Through a process known as secondary transfer, other cockroaches may be exposed to the insecticide through contaminated droppings or carcasses, helping reduce hidden populations. Our technicians strategically apply Advion in approved areas around kitchens, bathrooms, cabinets, appliances, and other common cockroach hiding locations as part of our comprehensive treatment program.
For many of our liquid insecticide treatments, children and pets can safely return to treated areas once the application has completely dried, provided all product-specific label requirements have been met.
Our technicians will inform you of any necessary precautions, including recommended re-entry times and areas to avoid following treatment. Some specialized treatments may require additional precautions.
